Question Answer
If you could travel back in time to any period, and meet any person who is historically significant, who would you want to meet and why?

I’d like to meet Malcolm X or Martin Luther King and see how they really did it compared to what I have read.

Out of all the problems that we are facing in our world today, what do you consider is our biggest problem and how do you think we can solve this problem?

Religious extremism is the greatest problem we face because it powers so many other issues. Unfortunately not all problems can be solved. The greatest obligation we have to our brethren is not giving up in finding solutions even if we know that a problem can never be solved.

Do you think it is possible that you and I were put here on this earth for some kind of purpose? If so, what do you think that was? If not, why do you think so?

I don’t think we were put here for a purpose. You and I have to discover what our common ground is and not what separates us. You could argue that the purpose of humanity is kinship in spite of strife.

We live in a world that tends to believe, now more than ever, that all religions are equal and no one religion is better than another. In your opinion does it matter what someone believes? If not, why not, if so, why so?

There is very little evidence that religious people really believe that all religions are equal. The propaganda is that all religions are equal. Beliefs are important because they determine how you view the other person.

All religions have different beliefs about the afterlife but many seem to indicate that we go to a better place, if we do the right things in this life. What do you personally believe about the afterlife and what do you think we need to do in this life in order to get to this better place in the next life?

What do you personally believe about the afterlife and what do you think we need to do in this life in order to get to this better place in the next life? I do not believe in the afterlife or any doctrinal beliefs of what we need to do to get there.

If you do not believe there is life after this life is over, where do you think we came from?

The spiritual or religious question of where we came from is disingenuous because it is a question which religious people believe they have an answer for. Honestly, what do we do here and now should not be linked with “where we come from”…

If you do not believe there is life after this life is over, why is it difficult for us to avoid believing in non-material things like truth, love, beauty, goodness, etc…?

Truth love beauty goodness are normative and have nothing to do with the spiritual or religious. I would argue that people sometimes conflate them with something higher because it affects us profoundly psychologically and physically.

Choose God is important because once one God can save us from sin. If not people will die and go to hell.
