Question Answer
If you could travel back in time to any period, and meet any person who is historically significant, who would you want to meet and why?

Hypatia who was a 4th century A.D. astronomer and philosopher.

Out of all the problems that we are facing in our world today, what do you consider is our biggest problem and how do you think we can solve this problem?

I think our biggest problem is not being able to put differences aside and make the best choice for our future regardless of the cost. If humans could do that we could more quickly fix hunger, pollution, and overpopulation.

Do you think it is possible that you and I were put here on this earth for some kind of purpose? If so, what do you think that was? If not, why do you think so?

No purpose, just to live.

We live in a world that tends to believe, now more than ever, that all religions are equal and no one religion is better than another. In your opinion does it matter what someone believes? If not, why not, if so, why so?

I think it does. Everyone interprets their religion differently than trying to have just common morals that do not harm others.

All religions have different beliefs about the afterlife but many seem to indicate that we go to a better place, if we do the right things in this life. What do you personally believe about the afterlife and what do you think we need to do in this life in order to get to this better place in the next life?

I wish there was an afterlife (evidence of it) but I do not currently believe it exists.

If you do not believe there is life after this life is over, where do you think we came from?

evolution

If you do not believe there is life after this life is over, why is it difficult for us to avoid believing in non-material things like truth, love, beauty, goodness, etc…?

Because as we have evolved to have the capacity to have more complex thoughts and more neural networks, we have learned of morality and therefore long for an afterlife. Love, truth, and beauty are abstract thoughts that have come to describe things, most or all human experience

I think our biggest problem is division because it leads to every other problem we see like racism, war, poverty, etc.

Do you think it is possible that you and I were put here on this earth for some kind of purpose? If so, what do you think that was? If not, why do you think so?

I think everyone is put on earth for a purpose. I think the bigger purpose for existence is love.

No. Because I believe everyones religion should be respected even if I don’t personally believe in it.

I do not particularly believe in religion because people tend to twist religions into something different altogether.

It doesn’t matter.
Is the Bible reliable? No – it was corrupted by the Catholic church. The KJV was corrupted by King James. He dictated what it would say.
Can we know the truth? Yes – but not about religion. Too much corruption in church.
Jesus can’t be the only way. Would like to know what Jesus actually said.
